Graduation Party
for the Class of 2001
Sunday, May 13th, 2001 at Shabbos House

Dr. Michael Young, Head of Acquistions at University Libraries, addresses the graduates, encouraging further Torah study, at this milestone of secular education.

event highlights:

• Dr. Michael Young, Head of Acquisitions for University Libraries, addressed the graduates, encouraging them to stay active in their Jewish communities, and to create opportunities to further their study of Torah, after having reached this milestone in higher education.
• Payam Danielzadeh, of the Class of 2001, prepared a video of snapshot memories which was viewed at the celebration. Thanks Payam!
• Raizy prepared a delicious gourmet hot buffet, including Pepper Steaks and Rice, Meatballs and Shells, Hors d'oeuvres, and Sesame Chicken. Rabbi Mendel overdid the Sangria, which was delicious with Fresca.
• The Class of 2001 presented an honorary UAlbany B.A. degree to Rabbi Mendel and Raizy Rubin, arranged through the University at Albany's Department of Student Life, in recognition of their four years of dedication at Shabbos House.
• The ZBT fraternity presented a wall clock to Shabbos House, remembering their good times here.
• Leaving four years at Shabbos House, the Class of 2001 purchased a beautiful Havdalah set to be used at Shabbos House, at the end of Shabbos, each week. We used it already.
• The Class of 2001 presented gifts of appreciation to David Liebshutz and Rebecca Charon of Hillels NENY for their dedication to Jewish life on campus.
• Each graduate received a book as a farewell gift from Shabbos House, with a personal letter inside, thanking them for their contributions to Jewish life at UAlbany.
