Official Press Release by AEPI Alpha Nu on
this chartering event:
UALBANY CHAPTER OF ALPHA EPSILON PI IS
CHARTERED BY INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY
The Alpha Nu Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity at the University at
Albany was chartered on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at a dinner ceremony at
the Quality Inn in Albany.
Past International Master (President) of AEPi and current University at
Albany Hillel President, Jonathan Pierce, presided over the chartering for
the local chapter of this Jewish fraternity, which is celebrating its 91st
anniversary this year, having over 123 chapters and colonies on its rolls
and a membership of over 77,000.
Pierce said how pleased he was that Alpha Nu, which originally started as a
fraternity at UAlbany in 1984 but had become inactive in the mid-1990’s, has
sprung to life in the last five years and became eligible to become an
officially chartered chapter this year. “It is a tribute to the men of Alpha
Nu that they worked hard to attract a strong pledge class and a solid group
of officers to move the fraternity forward into to the future. I am
particularly appreciative of the efforts of outgoing Master Shawn Hindes to
bring the chapter to this place. ”
Past Master of the chapter, Mike Lewis, served as master of ceremonies at
the dinner which attracted over 100 current and former fraternity brothers
and their friends and families. In addition to the chartering ceremony,
