| On Thursday, September 13th, first day classes were back in session after the tragic terror attacks of Sept 11th, Shabbos House and Lchaim presented the Shofar Factory at UAlbany's Campus Center. More than 60 students sawed, drilled, sanded and polished their own shofars for the Rosh Hashana New Year Holiday. Above - Rabbi Abba Rubin of Saratoga Chabad, and Right -Yossi Rubin a Rabbinical student at the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown NJ (both Rabbi Mendel's brothers) help students in making their own Shofars. Campus Center resounded with the sounds of the Shofar all afternoon. |

| 1300 Honey Cake Packets were distributed in the Campus Dining Halls. The card explained the significance of honey, listed upcoming events, and wished everyone a sweet new year. Thanks to all those who came over to Shabbos House to carefully plastic-wrap each piece, put the cards in the zip-lock bags, and put all those pieces of cake in. A SWEET YEAR TO EVERYONE! | |

| The Shofar
Factory on Campus Center Sponsored and staffed by Albany Chabad, The Shofar Factory was brought to Campus by Shabbos House and the Lchaim Student Group. An unadvertised special, due to last minute arrangements, yet 25 students made their own Shofars which actually worked. The sounds of the Shofar could be heard echoing in the academic podium. Thanks to Rabbinical Students Zalmy Kudan and Shmuly Rubin as well as Maimonides High School Students Avi Morgenbesser and Zalmy Simon for staffing the "factory". |

| Zalmy Kudan (Rabbinical Student) assists with sawing off horn tips to make for the Shofar Blowing Hole. | While waiting for the Shofar finish to dry, several students took the opportunity to put on Tefillin. (That's Zalmy again on the left). | Seth Mellin (Ruach President) sands his Shofar, while Mike Kashani (Lchaim President) looks on. |
