UAlbany students join |
|
| Rabbi Israel Rubin (Rabbi Mendel's father) and Capital Chabad has an annual Tu Bishvat (Jewish New Year for Trees) Celebration at the NYS Capitol for many years now. This year Tu Bishvat fell during Winter Break, but two UAlbany students, Craig Messer (President of ZFA) and Justin Hirsch (former L'chaim President), active at Shabbos House and in the leadership of the UAlbany campus community, went down to join the festivities just outside the NYS Assembly Chamber. | |

| Rabbi Rubin and Speaker Silver posing with the tree, during the celebration, as more than 100 legislators and aides ate fruit, and said L'chaim on New York State Grape Juice. Both Speaker Silver and Rabbi Rubin spoke about the significance of growth. | Rabbi Rubin opened the Budget session with an invocation. Here you'll find (not when the assembly was actually in session) Rabbi Israel Rubin with Craig and Justin sitting around on the Assembly Speakers seat. |
