PURIM UALBANY 5764 / 2004
Purim Day
with Shabbos House

Well, it's hard to top the kind of wonderful Purim Night we had with the Masquerade, Megillah and Games.. On Purim Day we spent a lot of time on the road with the kids in costume visiting friends and family, and people in the community with Purim Holiday Food Gifts packed by Raizy. And while we were out doing that, Raizy was busy with some students preparing 5 recipe styles of chicken wings, for our Purim Meal, late  Sunday afternoon. The wings were great, and some stayed later to "farbreng" and say some "L'chaim!" in honor of Purim!

Rabbi Mendel and the kids visit Yosel Tulchinsky who for several years (prior to his current illness, may he have a complete recovery) helped out at Shabbos House with preparations and clean-up. Making rounds around town in the Jewish community - New Scotland Area (between Whitehall Rd and Madison Ave, & between Albany Med and Rt 85). People loved to see the kids in costume.
Students enjoying the delicious Wing Bar of the Purim Meal. Plus salads and dips, soups and accompaniments. Also Iced Tea! During the Meal many student contributed towards a special Purim Appeal to fulfill the Mitzvah of Matanos L'Evyonim- Gifts to Poor on Purim. Together we stuffed a manila envelope with cash which will be distributed to needy families both here and in Israel.

These AEPI brothers and friends really enjoyed the delicious Wings Raizy prepared for the Purim Meal. Finger lickin' good! They thought we ordered them!

Pictured at right is a student from Queens College visiting Albany for the NYPIRG Convention. We had a number of NYPIRGites join us for various Purim Celebrations over the weekend.

Should have taken a picture of the long row of Chafing Dishes keeping the Wings and specialties warm. At any rate, you can see some of it behind these smiling good folks.
