AvodaArts actors (who ran a pre-Megillah Red Carpet Special and also
judged the masquerade contest), and who helped with set-up, schlepping and
clean-up, all who came in costume, and everyone who participated and
contributed to the festive atmosphere.

Purim is a joyous holiday
that celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from Haman’s plot of
annihilation in ancient Persia, as told in the scroll of Esther, read on
that day. In that spirit, the L’chaim Student Group, hosted a
masquerade carnival to generate a joyous and cheerful atmosphere of campus
unity. This year’s theme is “Where’s Waldo?” with the meaningful tagline:
“Where you’re never lost in the crowd” highlighting the value of each and
every individual. Our first Purim carnival was in 2007, and now in 2009 we
expanded the celebration, and extended invitations to all campus
groups to participate. We hope this can become an annual tradition at
UAlbany. For more info about
