UAlbany Class of 2008
GRADUATION DAY BBQ
Sunday, May 18th, 11am-4pm
at the Shabbos House Chabad Jewish Student Center

As in past years, the main commencement ceremony was held outdoors behind the Science Library, and amazingly, the rain held up and it was a beautiful morning, though it did rain later on after about 1pm.

Believe it or not, this year's undergraduate commencement speaker Mary Gordon spoke about the need to have a weekly Sabbath in our lives. She quoted a professor friend at Hebrew University who credits observing Shabbos as her ability to get many things done the rest of the week. This was amazing for Shabbos House regulars to hear, and they all came back to the BBQ excited to share this inspiration from an unlikely source.

Families kept coming and going all afternoon. Thanks to Efraim Backman for keeping the grill going strong.
