The Fuller Road Jewish Center
at Shabbos House Chabad Jewish Student Center

There's more to Fuller Road Jewish Life than the two cemeteries flanking its approach to Albany Nanotech and the UAlbany Empire Commons Housing... The Shabbos House Chabad Jewish Student Center was founded in 1976 at 316 Fuller Rd (then addressed as 76 Fuller Road) to serve the large Jewish student population at the University at Albany (SUNY). Indeed, this remains our central focus today.

Now, as we've grown, and prepare to transition to a new, bigger and better Shabbos House at 320 Fuller Road, we look forward to being good neighbors in part-time service of the Jewish community in the immediate vicinity, in the McKownville neighborhood of the Town of Guilderland, and within walking-distance of Shabbos House, including those working at Albany Nanotech and Executive Park at Stuyvesant Plaza, both right on Fuller Road.

Shabbos House already welcomes graduate students at the UAlbany CNSE College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in our current student center programming. We look forward to developing new programs specifically for graduate students and those employed at the growing enterprises on Fuller Road.

Albany County will begin Fuller Road - County Route 156 reconstruction and improvements in 2009, which will construct sidewalks on both sides of Fuller Road beginning at Western Ave all the way up to Central Ave which allow for greater pedestrian access to the new Shabbos House facility.

In addition - tourists or business travelers at the Western or Washington Ave hotels are welcome to join us for Shabbat and/or Holiday Minyan Prayers, as they often do. Please call us if you have questions about Albany-area Kosher resources, weekday minyans in the community or any other Jewish-related questions.
