Shofar Factory '03
at the UAlbany Campus Center

Rabbi Abba Rubin of Saratoga Chabad led the Shofar Factory craft workshop and assisted all participants in selecting, sawing, drilling, sanding and shellacking their own Shofars.

Adam Kofinas, Ally Newman, Melissa Morse and Corrie Borgner pose with their newly made Shofars. Each of these students serve as a Shofar for the Jewish community as Adam is VP of Communications for Hillel and the 3 gals are active leaders at RUACH!

The Shofar Factory at UAlbany is a Jewish Holiday Awareness project of
the L'chaim (SA) student group, the Shabbos House Jewish Student Center at UAlbany and Saratoga Chabad.

A popular event each year - it brings the Holiday spirit right to Campus Center's Small Fountain
with dozens of Shofars made, and many more visitors and passersby.

David Gretah stops by the Factory enroute to class, with backpack still in place, and puts all his energy into blowing a Shofar. Echoing off the arches - you could hear the Shofar blasts quite a distance on the Academic Podium.

Ally Newman in forefront, with Corrie Borgner to her left, and Honey Roffe to her right - all sanding their Shofars. Sam Gillman (ready to make his own Shofar) is to the far right.
